Simbu's 'Kettavan' has been in the news right from the day the film was commenced. During the inauguration function of 'Kettavan' the entire city was adorned with a variety of posters of Simbu. But the film was shelved due to the gap between its producers Baradhan Films and Simbu and also Simbu was busy with his films 'Kaalai' and 'Silambattam'. Later there were reports that Simbu Cine Arts purchased the project from Baradhan Films. The sources say that Radaan TV and UTV have obtained the rights to produce the film at a budget of about Rs. 20 crores.
